Astin-Porter House

The Astin-Porter House is a Classical Revival style home on approximately 1.3 acres one block East of downtown Bryan, Texas.

Designed by Howard Messer and S. Wemyss-Smith for Onah Ward Astin. The house was built for her daughter, Daisy.

Built by Charlie Eric Jenkins. Construction began in 1901 and was completed in 1903.

Remodeled in 1954 by A. P. Wehmeyer and Son for Holland Porter.

Recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1980.

Entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

We also have some information about the architect and the builder of AP. We hope to be able to locate blueprints, pictures of the construction of the house and interior pictures.
